I’ve been an owner for 39 years with 7 different trainers including one Hall-Of-Fame member. Gus gives me and my horses personal attention which I was not able to get from higher profile trainers who train large numbers of horses.
Gus works 7 days/week starting at 5am. He has a great “eye” for spotting a horse’s problems and a great feel as an exercise rider for diagnosing problems. He gets on every horse in his barn at least 3 times/week (there are too many horses for him to get on every horse daily). His other exercise riders are excellent.
I’ve never seen better grooms in any other barn. I am very happy with the tradesmen he uses: vets, blacksmith, dentist, acupuncturist, quarter crack specialist,etc. When Gus calls these people respond promptly and respectfully to work with Gus to solve problems.
Gus compares very favorably with every trainer that I’ve had. I highly recommend Gus Rodriguez.
